Fans of Hogwarts can now explore Diagon Alley (despite being Muggles!) thanks to the wizards at Google Street View. Since its 2007 debut, Street View has made mapping sidewalks, city streets, and buildings across the globe its primary responsibility. Nearly six years later, the experts have found themselves running out of spaces to map (after covering all the world’s continents and countless exotic locales).
The set of Diagon Alley shown on Google is real, even though the fantastic shopping district from J.K. Rowling’s beloved series is unfortunately fictional. If you ever need directions to Ollivander’s Wand Shop in time for another magical year at Hogwarts, want to make a deposit at Gringotts Wizarding Bank, or decide to drop by Weasley Wizard Wheezes joke shop to plan your next prank, you now know where to go.
Warner Bros. has now launched a Studio Tour of London for devoted fans who want to make a visit to the world of Harry, Hermione and Ron. As always, Google is on top of things- both in the Muggle universe and in the wizarding world!
