This week there are very few new movies opening due to it being a long weekend, and one of the new flicks is really just a re-release of an Academy Award winning film converted to 3D. The Hunger Games could very well take the box office crown for a third week in a row, but one of the new releases may give it a bit of a run for it’s money.
It’s been 13 years since the first American Pie movie hit theatres, and 9 years since the last one. American Reunion finds the same group of characters, and shows us what has happened to them since we saw them last. They all head back home for their 10th school anniversary, and comedy is sure to happen. This time around the movie is directed by the duo who brought us the Harold and Kumar movies, so it could be even raunchier than before. It’ll be interesting to see how everyone has aged, since every one of them is back.
The only other movie coming out this weekend is Titanic 3D. If anyone can be successful converting 2D to 3D it will be James Cameron, but the question begs to be asked, do we really need to hear Celine Dion singing My Heart Will Go On all over again? Granted the movie was good back in 1997, and well worth seeing on the big screen, and with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the famous ship just passed it could be worth it to give it another viewing.
