Behind The Scenes at the Emmy’s is our latest installment in Real Style Network’s on going series about all the juicy going-ons at the events we attend. Read all about what Jimmy Fallon, Mark Wahlberg, Jon Hamm and many more were up to at the Emmy 2011 Awards.
At many award ceremonies much of what goes on is not televised and the Emmy’s were no exception. When the TV show breaks to commercial, the show stops on stage as well and a 5 to 7 minute break ensues where many in the audience make mad dashes to the concessions, restrooms or just to get some air. Much of the frenetic and often hilarious activity then ensued right there ‘behind the scenes’ of the famed Nokia Centre in Los Angeles. Here is what was heard and ‘scene’:
Clean shaven Josh Brolin arriving with his wife, the never aging and incredibly thin, Diane Lane. Diane was nominated for outstanding lead actress role in a HBO’s Cinema Verite mini-series. She unfortunately didn’t win.
Late night jokesters, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon rolling on top of each other (and more), when the cameras were off them..on stage! Jimmy Fallon didn’t let on to the show’s planned shenanigans when he relaxed and chatted away at the pool of a famed LA hotel. In person Jimmy looks about 25 and his wife is surprisingly non movie star looking and very friendly.
Mark Wahlberg being mobbed by photo seeking fans at the Emmy’s while waiting for his wife. In reverse of the ‘damsel in distress’ situation we offered our help to the “fighter” and sought out Mark’s gorgeous ,red headed wife Rhea from her hiding place in the women’s restroom. Hearing that her hubby needed rescuing, she came forthwith .
Super tall and thin Conan O’Brien loving the attention and choosing to stay in the hall after being locked out during the live segment of the Emmy’s.
Handsome and also tall Jon Hamm, a.k.a Don Draper saying he loved his time in Toronto, where he and his director girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt premiered her film Married With Kids. Mad Men went on to win their 4th consecutive Emmy for best TV drama. We had interviewed Janie Bryant, the costumer for the show previously about Mad Men’s influence on retro fashions, read it here.
The Glee kids making a mad dash out of the theatre at the end of the show. In the meantime Dot Jones who plays coach Shannon Beiste walked out very slowly supporting herself with a crutch.
