However, It is easy to achieve a fun and fresh look without piling on a ton of makeup. A bold and vibrant lip colour is a great way to spruce up a look while keeping the rest of your makeup to a minimum. Pick The Right Shade: Bold and bright is the way to go when choosing a coloured lipstick. While you can stick to a classic red for a fun pop of colour, this summer we are loving a bright tangerine or hot pink for a bold pout. Try Mac’s Candy Yum-Yum lipstick or Mango by Shiseido for lip shades that are hot for the season.
Go Matte: While lip gloss can be a quick way to spruce up your lips, it can also get super sticky in the humidity. So skip the shine this summer because matte is the way to go in just about any bright and daring hue. Dab a little bit of concealer onto your lips prior to applying the lipstick for a truly opaque colour that will stay in place all day long.
Be Bold: This is your chance to have fun and experiment with colour. Toss that nude lipstick to the side and opt for something you wouldn’t normally try. Don’t be afraid to go for a fully pigmented lip colour or something that will really stand out on your lips.
Keep the Rest Minimal: If you’re going for a super bright lip it is best to keep the rest of your makeup to a minimum. You can choose to forgo foundation altogether, or give your skin a quick dusting of bronzer for a summery glow that will compliment any bold hue. For the eyes, simply add mascara and a swipe of eyeliner for a complete look.
