Evangeline Lilly Debuts Dramatic Short Hair With Blonde Streaks

Evangeline Lilly debuted a shockingly different and totally unexpected new hairdo on the red carpet for the world premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in Wellington, New Zealand. We hardly recognized the former Lost starlet without her signature long brown wavy locks. The Canadian beauty looked totally different with her cropped and bedhead-esque hair and dramatic blonde streaks. In fact, she looked a lot more like Alanis Morissette than she did her former self circa the “Kate from Lost” years.

Come to think of it, we haven’t seen Evangeline in quite some time! After Lost aired its series finale in 2010, the British Columbia native took a bit of a break from Hollywood to start a family with her boyfriend Norman Cali. The couple welcomed a son into the world in 2010!

There’s no better way to return to the spotlight than with a dramatic new ‘do. Evangeline isn’t in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, but she is the next two and films from Peter Jackson’s much-anticipated prequel trilogy to the Lord of the Rings films, both The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) and The Hobbit: There and Back Again (2014). Evangeline Lilly plays Tauriel, a female elf from Mirkwood, in the highly anticipated Hobbit films. We’re very psyched for Evangeline to get back into the limelight.

Although we’ll be the first to admit that we prefer Evangeline with her long brown hair, we completely understand the need to switch it up once in a while. We all need a change once in a while, and changing hair is the best way we can think of to mark the beginning of a new stage in life.

Evangeline’s not the only famous lady to debut new hair this week. Kate Middleton just cut bangs for her dramatic new holiday look. Check out the link below to see for yourself!
