Sure, she’s been told to lose weight for the odd movie role and she’s definitely faced criticism from the media that she’s bigger than you’re average Hollywood starlet, but that hasn’t stopped her for being a great body image role model for women. With her focus on fitness as opposed to dieting, Jennifer is helping change the notion that all actresses have to be stick-thin to succeed in the film industry. With her latest film House at the End of the Street in theatres today, we’re thrilled to see Jennifer back in the limelight and showing the world that women can be healthy and beautiful. Accept That The Camera Adds A Few Pounds
Don’t expect Jennifer to give into the pressure to be as skinny as the majority of Hollywood starlets. Even though she knows the camera makes even the most fit person look a little bigger on screen, she much prefers to look good in real life. “I’m miserable when I’m dieting and I like the way I look. I’m really sick of all these actresses looking like birds,” Jennifer told Flare. “I’d rather look a little chubby on camera and look like a person in real life, than to look great onscreen and look like a scarecrow in real life.”

Indulge Your Cravings
Letting yourself enjoy the odd “bad food” isn’t a big deal, if you don’t make a habit out of it. A treat should be exactly that: a treat! Enjoy it. “I stuffed myself with Cheetos yesterday and then someone said: ‘Oh no, you will have to work all that off tomorrow.’” she confessed to Interview Magazine. “And I was just like: ‘I don’t care, the stuff tastes amazing.’ As the saying goes: One moment on your lips, forever on your hips. But what to do, when the moment is so great?”

No Matter How Little Time You Have, Make Time To Have Fun
It’s easy to put good times on the back burner when life gets overwhelmed with work commitments, but it’s just as important for your well being to take a little breather with your friends as it is to hit the gym or get caught up on sleep in your free time. “As hard as it is and as tired as I am,” Lawrence says, “I force myself to get dinner at least once a week with my girlfriends, or have a sleepover. Otherwise my life is just work.”

Stay In Shape With Exercise, Not Dieting
Not eating might seem like the easiest solution when it comes to shedding pounds, but the truth is, limiting your calorie intake can actually make you more tired, moody and unproductive than you anticipated. You’re better off shaping up the healthy: by hitting the gym or playing sports. “I don’t diet. I do exercise! But I don’t diet,” Jennifer said to Glamour Magazine. “You can’t work when you’re hungry, you know?”

Remember That Losing Too Much Weight Too Fast Is Dangerous
Beyonce allegedly did the Master Cleanse to slim down for Dreamgirls, and we all remember how skinny Christian Bale got for The Machinist. Even if you happen to be a movie star who gets paid massive amounts of money to lose a lot of weight, it’s still not worth the health risks. “I’ve been told to lose weight for so many movies,” Jennifer admitted to British Marie-Claire. “For Hunger Games it’s something I agree with. She’s hunting for food. But I just think, anyone who does these extreme diets like gain 100 pounds then lose 100 pounds for the next movie… it’s just not healthy. It’s a role. At the end of the day it’s acting. It’s your body and your health.”
