Travelling is such an enriching experience- after all, everybody should get the chance to explore what the world has to offer. However, travelling is not easy, as booking a trip can be expensive and can sometimes require months of preparation. Whether you’re someone who tends to overpack or someone who tends to forget essential items at home, here are some tips to make your upcoming travels a little easier.

To utilize the space in your suitcase, roll your clothes instead of folding them. This way, your clothes will take less space and you’ll have more room for more things. If you want to keep your clothes smelling fresh for your trip, you can put dryer sheets in between your clothing. You can tuck shoes in between your clothing, by wrapping each shoe in a shower cap. To keep your jewellery from getting tangled, you can store your baubles in a pill container or even stuff them (carefully) into your shoes. Use your weighing scale to weigh your bags to ensure that your luggage is not overweight, as each airline requires all luggage to follow a weight restriction. This way you can rearrange what’s in your bags at home, as your luggage will weigh the proper amount and you won’t have to do it at the airport or pay any extra fees.

Always make sure to call your credit card company before your trip, so that they know you’re out of the country and would like to shop while you’re there!Just in case of emergencies, you should always send another copy of your ID and itinerary to yourself, and screenshot it in case you find yourself without WiFi or data.

When you are at the airport, bring an empty water bottle with you that you can fill up after you pass security. If you’re a tea drinker, then you can bring a coffee mug and fill it with teabags and then when you pass security ask for hot water, and make your own tea right at the airport.

These are all ideas which will help you save money, time and energy- and hopefully, embark on another exciting and safe journey!
