With Summerlicious 2016 officially in full force in Toronto, local foodies can look forward to sampling gourmet eats at a fraction of the price. The annual prix fixe food event kicked off on July 11, and runs until July 24.

Just like its close cousin Winterlicious, Summerlicious 2016 involves discounted three-course lunch and dinner menus at a number of eateries in the city. This year, the foodie-friendly extravaganza involves 220 restaurants, which also include 24 new options.

Summerlicious also claims to offer vegan, vegetarian and locally sourced menus. For 2016, the lineup of restaurants ranges from Italian options like 7 Numbers Eglinton and Yorkville bistro a la Carte at the Gardiner, to upscale spots like Beaumont Kitchen. Meanwhile, Mediterranean joints like Brassaii and Chiado are also on the roster of Summerlicious picks.

Staying true to the 6ix, the event also includes varying regions in Toronto, with participating restaurants located in the Entertainment District, Financial District, west end and Liberty Village.

For gourmets who are in the mood for a meal and entertainment, midtown destination Alleycatz Restaurant Jazz Bar claims to offer salsa, karaoke, and live bands. Meanwhile, the Living Room at Windsor Arms Hotel is a more formal experience and also boasts a variety of craft beers and wines.

Whether you’re craving a lively night out or a more sophisticated weekday lunch, Summerlicious 2016 just may have something to satisfy your cravings.
