If you want to take advantage of the last days of the summer, try heading over to the annual summer fair that everyone in Toronto adores, the Canadian National Exhibition. With 1.5 million guests expected to visit, the CNE (affectionately known as the Ex by Torontonians) is also a great place to bring friends or family who are visiting from out of town. Like every year, the Ex is expected to present its usual offerings of cotton candy and BeaverTails, along with international foods in the Food Building. For carnivores who are craving meats (as opposed to sweets and popcorn), Ribfest and food trucks will also be taking place.

Along with culinary delights, amusement park rides and midway games, the CNE will also feature the usual traditional events. The three-day Canadian International Air Show will be on during the last weekend of the summer, lighting up Labour Day with plenty of sound of excitement. In addition to that, an Acrobatics and Ice Skating Show and a dog show slated to make a grand appearance. Burton Cummings & Band, Kiefer Sutherland, Sam Roberts Band, The Sheepdogs, Brett Kissel and A Tribe Called Red are all expected to perform in concert. Meanwhile, cooking demonstrations from celebrity chefs like Vikram Vij and Jamie Kennedy will also be featured.

Shopaholics who want to find deals can also stop by the Outdoor Marketplace, where you can find clothing, jewellery, books and souvenirs. The CNE officially opens today, and runs until September 4.
