Everywhere you look, it seems that a celebrity is wearing a strapless mini dress. We love the draped white dress that Kristen Bell wore for the Golden Globes. This is not just a fashion trend for the clubs anymore, the fashion trend is making it’s way off the Red Carpet and soon into your closet.

Choosing a dress in a neutral colour , white, black or the new nude means that you will be able to wear it to any event day or night. White is HUGE right now with lots of celebs wearing the colour, or non colour on the Red Carpet. Black and white will also fit into any wardrobe and the color combo was the basis of Karl Lagerfeld’s  fresh looks for his spring 2010 fashion collection. The strapless mini dress is versatile fashion trend and can be easily adapted to daytime and evening looks. Casual sandals or embellished flats to dress it down and high heeled party shoes to dress up. Same goes for accessories. Hobo bag  for daytime with a cute spring jacket or the new jean jacket.  Want to dress it up for the evening? You can also add the bib necklace with a cocktail ring are an easy way to add glamour to your evening look.

Here are the fashion designer recommendations for the holiday season’s must-have shoes, accessories and outerwear:

Smythe: A standout shoe, boot, or bootie are the best way to make an existing dress or outfit current. Don’t bother buying a new outfit this season. Buy new footwear and make it edgy and tough. Be bold in this department. Look at Nicholas Kirkwood for inspiration. Another accessory that will work with a high-heeled bootie are lace or patterned tights. A jacket with a statement shoulder! This can be worn over a dress or with a skirt/evening shorts and, of course, with any pant.

Jay Godfrey: Jimmy Choo for H&M… high fashion at an affordable price, a J. Crew’s crystal-and-pearl Libretto necklace, and a Moncler Moto Puffer jacket with fur hood.

Andy The-Anh: Miu Miu fur shoes and black pearls.

Accessories are the fastest way to update your outfit for the holiday season. As we wrote before, this year has been all about shimmer and shine with daytime sequins, bejeweled embellishments and bold jewelry. Here is a first look at what some of the accessories such as shoes, boots and bags designed by Jimmy Choo for H&M will look like. As you can see above they are up to the minute in the top fashion looks right now: over the knee leather boots, animal prints, booties.

As we reported earlier in the Canada Style shopping review, H&M was a great place for trendy, inexpensive clothing but the accessories needed improvement.This new high fashion and better quality accessory line should do wonders in improving that end of the business for the retailer. It’s also a great potential new source for affordable designer shoes and bags.

When the announcement came out this summer about the latest H&M designer collaboration, this time with Jimmy Choo to design the accessory line, excitement swept through the ranks of the value conscious fashionistas. With a typical price point of over $700.00 for shoes in the regular Jimmy Choo line, the anticipation has been growing to see what the goods will actually look like come November 14, when the line is scheduled to debut in over 200 H&M stores. Judging from above,it looks really good. The accessory line will feature real leather in the shoes and bags AND the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection will also feature apparel.

This is a first for Jimmy Choo, as the fashion brand does not feature clothing in their own line.

Tamara Mellon, the Founder and President of the design brand said:

“It was H&M’s idea to [do clothes], and as soon as they said it, I really wanted to do it,” said Mellon, who said she has no imminent plans to launch ready-to-wear under the Jimmy Choo umbrella, but added: “Never say never.”
