In breaking celebrity news today, feisty actor Sean Penn has been court ordered to go to anger management.
Sean Penn was in court today (well, he wasn’t there, but his lawyer was there on his behalf) for a misdemeanor vandalism charge from an incident with some paparazzi last year. The paparazzi said Penn attempted to kick him and damaged his camera after screaming at him on a public street. Sean Penn pleaded no contest to the charges. To make up for his bad behaviour the judge ordered Sean Penn to 3 years of probation, 300 hours of community service and 36 hours of anger management classes.
The celebrity will most likely finish up his community service at his own Haiti relief charity, the J/P Haitian Relief Organization.
This was a plea deal Sean Penn came to so he didn’t face the 18 months in jail he could have through a trial.
This isn’t Sean Penn’s first dance with the court system. Many years ago Penn when he was married to Madonna, Sean Penn was charged with felony domestic assault. He plead those charges down as well. Maybe anger management will do him some good.
Penn will be at the Cannes Film Festival, which opened today, as he is the jury president for the film festival.
While big names like Sandra Bullock and Tiger Woods have been taking up all of our time blogging about sex scandals, other celebrities have been in the news for the exact same issues. Actor Steven Segal is in some hot water as he’s being accused of trafficking women for sex.
Model Kayden Nguyen says she got a job with Steven Segal as an executive assistant, but when she started Segal sexual assualted her. She also saw that the celebrity kept two women at his beck and call to fulfill his needs. She said she complained about Steven Segal’s behaviour, but nothing was done. She is suing for a million dollars.
Kayden Nguyen isn’t a completely innocent girl herself. According to TMZ, she appeared on The Tyra Banks Show last year to brag about how she can get guys to give her whatever she wants.

Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry should know better than anyone that those women from Wisteria Lane don’t take trouble from anybody without getting their revenge. Former Desperate Housewife Nicollette Sheridan is suing Cherry for alleged assault and battery, gender discrimination and wrongful termination.
Sheridan is suing the television show’s creator for $20 million. TMZ broke this celebrity news that the lawsuit claims Marc Cherry hit Nicollette in the face after she questioned something in the script.
The lawsuit says she reported the incident, but nothing happened and Cherry made the television set a hostile work environment. Nicollette feels she was unfairly killed off on the television show.
According to recent updates ABC admits this isn’t the first complaint about Marc Cherry.
Songwriter and music producer Rob Fusari is suing his ex-girlfriend Lady Gaga for a staggering $30.5 million. He claims that Gaga hasn’t been paying him proper shares for all he’s done for her career.
Rob Fusari met Lady Gaga in 2006 and had a huge impact on her career. He co-wrote songs on her smash debut album Fame Monster, including the hit “Paparazzi.” He also claims that he helped her change from Stefani Germanotta to the wild Lady Gaga we know today.
Rob Fusari and Lady Gaga became an item shortly after they met. They worked together to jump start her career and he says he helped her get signed to Universal Records.
Rob Fusari’s lawsuit says that he hasn’t been paid the 20% of song royalties and 15% of merchandising they agreed upon before she was famous. Now that she’s famous and they have broken up, Rob says he hasn’t seen his fair share.
Thirty million may sound like a lot, but Lady Gaga has sold over 3 million albums and had numerous tours. Rob Fusari isn’t just some ex-boyfriend wanting revenge. He also co-wrote “Bootylicious” for Destiny’s Child, so he knows what he’s doing.
Jon Gosselin settled his lawsuit with TLC yesterday out of court. Both parties were suing each other, but the pair came to an agreement. The terms are not being released.
Back in October, TLC sued Jon Gosselin for breach of contract when he made public appearances everywhere that would take him. TLC felt it violated their contract and looked bad according to People Magazine. Meanwhile Jon Gosselin counter-sued the television network for damaging his reputation.
Both suits have now been dropped. RadarOnline reports that Jon Gosselin couldn’t afford the expensive lawyer fees it would cost him to go through trial.
They also say that Jon has agreed to let TLC resume filming his children. Does this mean a return of Jon & Kate Plus 8? We will have to see. TLC previously talked about filming Kate Plus 8, so this show could be back on. This could be the return of daily news about the Gosselin’s since they have dropped off the radar recently. Let’s hope not.
Charlie Sheen has been charged with assault after the incident with his wife, Brooke Mueller, on Christmas Eve.
According to US Magazine, three charges were filed against Charlie Sheen. They are felony menacing, third-degree assault and criminal mischief. He hasn’t entered a plea yet.
The judge in Charlie Sheen’s case dropped the temporary restraining order against him, so that Sheen could go home with his wife and sons. Reports says that Sheen and Mueller hugged and kissed before leaving the court separately. People says that they will be working on their marriage in California.
The terms of Charlie Sheen’s modified restraining order state that he is unable to drink alcohol, own guns or harass Brooke Mueller. If they are working on their marriage and want to stay together these conditions shouldn’t be a problem.
Charlie Sheen will be back in court on March 15th.
Singer Phoenix Phenom is suing the Black Eyed Peas for allegedly stealing her song.
Phoenix Phenom claims that her song “Boom Dynamite” was stolen illegally and used to create the Black Eyed Peas huge hit “Boom Boom Pow.”
“Boom Boom Pow” was played everywhere when it first came out, so what took Phoenix Phenom and her co-writer so long to run to the lawyers and file this claim? These types of lawsuits can be tricky and you have to really have a good basis before you go accusing a band as big as the Black Eyed Peas of theivery.

Celebrity gossip lovers were on fire yesterday with the news that 80’s actor Gary Coleman was arrested for domestic assault.
Now they are backpedaling and Gary Coleman’s people are trying to clear his name because it isn’t true. He was arrested, but according to People Magazine, the police and his lawyer it was for failure to appear in court, not domestic assault. That is a far less serious crime than any type of assault.
They haven’t yet stated what he didn’t appear in court for, but he has had court trouble in the past with his wife and being charge with hitting a man with his car.
Just this morning we reported that Charlie Sheen’s court case was being delayed because Brooke Mueller had to have her wisdom teeth taken out. Now it’s revealed that Brooke Mueller has been rushed to intensive care.
People reports that Brooke Mueller had a 105 degree temperature thanks to an infection caused by the surgery. They say that the infection has spread and the doctors are trying to get it under control with antibiotics.
Even though the restraining order is still in place, TMZ reports that Charlie Sheen is at the hospital visiting with his wife.
The court date to remove the restraining order against Charlie Sheen was rescheduled for Friday. This likely won’t happen now though.

Robert Joel “Joe” Halderman, the man who tried to extort money from David Letterman, will be heading to trial after trying to get the case dismissed. He claims that this is a misunderstanding and he was trying to sell David Letterman a screenplay on his life. The judge didn’t buy it and a court date has been set for March 9th.
Amy Winehouse pled guilty to assaulting a theatre manager at a Christmas show on December 19th. Just when we thought Amy Winehouse had cleaned up a bit and gotten away from all of the attention, she winds up back in the spotlight in court.
Charlie Sheen’s court date has been delayed because his wife Brooke Mueller needs to go to the dentist. Brooke Mueller is getting her wisdom teeth out delaying their first date in court. This is the date that will suspend the restraining order against Charlie Sheen and allow him to return home with his wife and children for the first time since he allegedly attacked her with a knife over Christmas.
Many of Tiger Woods’ sponsors may be standing behind him, but Hanes is not being so lenient on Charlie Sheen.
The clothing company has pulled all of the ads featuring Charlie Sheen from the air. According to People Magazine his contract was up this year anyways, but being pulled early is not good for the actor.
Charlie Sheen will be testifying in court via telephone to discuss the temporary restraining order his wife Brooke Mueller has against him according to Radar. She wants the restraining order dropped so that they can move back in together. Why she wants him back is a whole other mystery.
His court date to enter a plea for the charge connected to the alleged domestic violence incident is February 8th, so we will have to wait until then to get more news on what Charlie Sheen is up to.
Jon Gosselin claims that he returned home to New York on Boxing Day after spending time with his kids to find that his apartment had been broken into and vandalized. All evidence being revealed seemed to point to his ex-girlfriend Hailey Glassman.
Now Hailey Glassman is telling the press that the whole event is just a publicity stunt. The New York Post reports that TMZ was alerted of the break in before the police.
Hailey Glassman swears she did not shred his clothes and ransack his apartment. She does admit to writing the note that they found in his home, but not to stabbing it to a dresser with a butcher knife.
Her lawyer said, “To me, it appears to be a huge publicity stunt. It appears that somebody is trying to frame my client, Hailey Glassman, because she didn’t take anything from that apartment that she was not entitled to take with her. I don’t see any truth in what is circling around in the media against my client.”
Jon Gosselin may have a bad reputation, but this would be a new low for the reality television star dad if it’s all a publicity stunt.
After all of the dramatic events, news on the finale of the Balloon Boy story has come. Richard Heene and his wife Mayumi Heene have finally been sentenced for their stunt of letting the world believe that their son was trapped in a balloon.
Richard Heene was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 4 years probation. Mayumi Heene was sentenced to 20 days in jail.
Both parents pleaded guilty to the charges of setting up this wild publicity stunt.
Richard Heene got off lightly as he could have been facing up to six years in jail for his actions.
You have to wonder what is going to happen to the kids during this time.
Chris Brown spouted an angry message to WalMart on his twitter account early this week and then promptly shut it down. Maybe he was embarrassed for accusing the store of not carrying his cd, when they actually are, but fans are wondering why the sudden split from twitter.
A judge has ordered Lindsay Lohan to go to alcohol education classes once a week. As part of her probation Lindsay has to go, but her busy schedule has made it so she’s missed some. Now she must go every week regardless to fulfill her responsibility. That means no jobs out of town for too long.
This may be the last year you will see Simon Cowell on American Idol. Rumour has it Cowell really wants to bring X Factor this side of the ocean. Reports say he is in talks with Fox (the same network that Idol is on) to air the show here. If Cowell leaves, I might have to jump ship too. He is the best part about that show.
After their infamous battles, Jon and Kate Gosselin are finally divorced. Maybe now, we won’t have to hear about their domestic disputes every week.

Kate Gosselin released a statement saying “I am very relieved that our divorce has been finalized, and I look forward to the New Year, focusing on the children… This has been a challenging transition for all of us, but I am confident that we will move ahead with the important task of restructuring our lives.”
Jon has to go back to court soon to smooth out his other legal issues with TLC over claims that he broke his contact by making media appearances. So his troubles aren’t over yet.
