The internet has been abuzz with rumours that Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z are expecting their first child.
Despite an online report that the singer is pregnant, a source close to Beyoncé told People Magazine that the story is “not true.”
In the past, Knowles, 28, has spoken about her desire to start a family with her husband, 40. “I hope that those things will just happen naturally,” she told Allure magazine for its February issue.
For now, Beyoncé is on a much-deserved break traveling and spending time with family.
Teen heartthrob Donny Osmond has taken a harsh stand on Lady Gaga’s new music video.
Donny Osmond took to the air waves on his radio show to share just how upset he is about the “Telephone” music video. He said, “”I wouldn’t want my child to watch this video. Would you? What do you think? Should these two extremely gifted female role models for millions of young girls, maybe, have given a little more thought to the effect it might have on their core audience?”
The “Telephone” video feautring Lady Gaga and Beyonce is quiet extreme. It features sex and violence openly. The video is so bold that CNN aired a segment saying MTV wouldn’t play the video. MTV has not banned the Lady Gaga video so far.
You can watch the Lady Gaga video in question here, but just a warning that you may want to keep young eyes away from the screen until you’ve seen it for yourself.
Fans of Beyonce were shocked when her parents Mathew and Tina announced their divorce after 29 years of marriage. Tina is well known as the designer for Dereon, a clothing line she launched with her daughter Beyonce and Mathew runs a successful music management company (and manages his daughter).
According to recent reports, the reason for the separation is that Mathew was having an affair with actress Alexsandra Wright. She gave birth last Thursday to his love child and is now demanding child support. Mathew himself is demanding a paternity test before agreeing to pay child support.
Mathew Knowles has had a lot of business and personal challenges this past year. Both Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland (both of Destiny Child) left his music management company due to “creative and personal differences”.
Rumour has it, Beyonce has also distanced herself from her father and plans on taking a six-month break from the business to relax.
Last night on the Grammy Awards the performances really outshone the actual awards.
Lady Gaga and Elton John started the show with an interesting and great performance. After doing parts of her own songs solo, Lady Gaga and Elton teamed up for a mash up of her song “Speechless” and Elton John’s “Your Song.” It shouldn’t have worked, but in their matching sparkling glasses it did.
Pink gave it her all for a performance people will be talking about. In a sheer bodysuit that was very Cher-like, Pink did some aerobatics over the crowd dripping water over all of the stars in their red carpet gowns. While it sounds odd, it was moving.
Celine Dion, Usher, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson and Carrie Underwood teamed up for the Michael Jackson tribute in 3D. I’m sure it looked great in 3D, but those of us without glasses were left out and stuck watching the oddly coloured screen. Watching Beyonce rock out in 3D glasses was worth it though.
Most of the usual suspects picked up an award. Instead of one big artist sweeping all categories like expected, since Taylor Swift has won everything else, the Grammy Awards were for once handed up to people who actually deserved it. Beyonce was the night’s big winner taking home six statues. “Single Ladies” won Song Of The Year and Kanye West wasn’t even there to see it. Kings Of Leon took home Record Of The Year for their single “Use Somebody.” Best new artist was country band The Zac Brown Band. Taylor Swift did win some awards. She won Album Of The Year for Fearless and is the youngest person to ever win that honour.
So another weekend is here and another award show is coming. This weekend though, we shake things up with the music event of the year, The Grammy Awards. With the list of performers like Beyoncé, the Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, the Dave Matthews Band, Green Day, Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga, Maxwell, Pink, Taylor Swift, it should a safe, family friendly show. Hopefully Lady Gaga will spice things up a bit.
So here are Real Style’s music picks for the winners at the Grammy Awards.
Record Of The Year: You Belong To Me, Taylor Swift. Actually just count that if Taylor Swift is nominated… she will win. This includes Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and all country music awards.
Best New Artist: MGMT
Best Female Pop Performance: Take a wild guess who is going to win this, maybe they will give Beyonce one to please Kanye West.
Best Male Pop Performance: John Legend is everywhere right now and everyone loves him.
Best Pop Album: The Fray or Kelly Clarkson will take it, but The Black Eyed Peas are bound to win something.
Best Rock Album: Green Day should win, but either Eric Clapton or AC/DC will probably take it.

Best Rap Album: Mos Def .
Stayed tuned to Real Style for the highlights and winners at the Grammy’s.
Yes, you read that right. Reports have surfaced that Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie are getting together a celebrity packed remake of “We Are The World.”
The singers were already planning to re-record the song for it’s 25th anniversary, but now with the crisis in Haiti, the timing, unfortunately, is perfect. Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie are inviting singers and celebrities to stay an extra day after the Grammy’s on January 31st to record a new version of “We Are The World.”
Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich is rumoured to be producing the song and Usher, Natalie Cole and John Legend have been asked so far. The word will spread fast though and singers will sign up to be a part of history soon.
The Sun reports that Simon Cowell also wants to record a charity single for Haiti. Singers Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Wyclef Jean and Robbie Williams have reportedly signed up. He will probably tap into his X-Factor, Britian’s Got Talent and American Idol pool of singers as well.
For nostalgia’s sake, lets watch the video for the 1985 version of “We Are The World.”
Oprah had a special episode yesterday dedicated to the people of Haiti.
As a treat, Rihanna stopped by and performed an acoustic version of Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song.” The song is available on ITunes now with all proceeds raised going to relief efforts in Haiti. Rihanna will be performing with Jay-Z and Bono on Friday night’s telethon Hope For Haiti hosted by George Clooney.
Bono and Jay-Z have teamed with producer Swizz to record a brand new song which will also be sold on Itunes to raise money for Haitian relief efforts after the telethon. They will probably be performing it live at the telethon first. Knowing the standard of Bono and Jay-Z this track will probably be amazing.
Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruce Springsteen have joined the previously known performers for Friday’s telethon that include Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguleira, Taylor Swift and Shakira.
Check out Rihanna’s live performance of “Redemption Song” from Oprah here:
According to a poll that came out this week, Kate Winslet is the celebrity with the body that most women desire to have.
In the poll done with women in the UK, curvy, beautiful Kate Winslet came out in the forefront. She beat out of 2,000 other nominees up for the role. We love that women really do aspire to an actress who loves her curves.
Halle Berry, Lily Allen, Megan Fox and Beyonce all took spots in the top 10 without being super skinny and showing off their curves.
Meanwhile the super skinny Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss were closer to the bottom of the list with less than one percent of the votes each.
The Daily Mail reports that while being uber-skinny may not be as important to women anymore, the majority who did the poll still said they were unhappy with their weight.
Let’s take a cue from celebrities like Kate Winslet and Beyonce and celebrate those curves. Confidence is sexier anyways.
The first batch of Grammy performers were announced today and they include the hottest singers with the most nominations.
Beyonce and Taylor Swift are the top draws at this year’s Grammy Awards. Beyonce leads the pack with 10 nominations. She has five different songs nominated, so she has a big choice on what to sing. We are betting both “Halo” and “Single Ladies” are heard.
Taylor Swift will also be belting out a tune at the Grammy awards. Taylor has eight nominations from her Fearless album. Taylor Swift was named entertainer of the year by the Associated Press yesterday. She is sure to pick up a few statues on January 31st when the Grammy’s air.
Other performers announced today include the Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell and Lady Antebellum. More performers will be announced as we near the date.
Nominees were announced last night for the Grammy Awards and music’s leading ladies are poised to sweep the night.
Beyonce leads the Grammy nominee with 10, including Recording Of The Year, Album Of The Year, and Song Of The Year. Taylor Swift holds second place with eight nominations. She is up against Beyonce in all three of those categories, but also has the country music categories which she is sure to win.
Lady Gaga came in with five Grammy nominations and we can’t wait to see what she wears. Black Eyed Peas, Kayne West and rockers Kings Of Leon also had quiet a few nominations.
It will be interesting to see which diva takes the show.
There is a serious lack of Canadians on the nomination list this year. Nickelback, Neil Young and Michael Buble will be the big artists representing for us.
What a year it has been. Taylor Swift is unstoppable. Her trophy shelf is going to need some rearranging after last night’s American Music Awards. Now the country singer has 5 new trophies to add to her stash.
Taylor Swift won Favorite Artist Of The Year, Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, Favorite Adult-Contemporary Artist, Favorite Country Album and Favorite Country Female Artist.
The other big winner of the night was the late Michael Jackson. Jackson’s brother Jermaine accepted 4 awards on Michael’s behalf. Michael Jackson won Favorite Soul/R&B Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Male Vocalist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album and Favorite Soul/R&B Album.
Other winners included Black Eyed Peas for Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group, Beyonce for Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist, Jay-Z as Favorite Hip-Hop Male Artist and Whitney Houston as Artist Of The Year.
MTV rocked Berlin last night with the MTV Europe Music Awards. As you could predict Beyonce came out on top. She won Best Female, Best Song for Halo and Best Video for Single Ladies (are you happy now Kanye?).
Our favourite crazy lady, Lady Gaga, also won one for Best New Act. Other winners were Eminem, Green Day and Linkin Park.
A lot of people might have won statues at the MTV Europe Music Awards last night, but it’s host Katy Perry that everyone is talking about. The saucy singer had a huge 12 wardrobe changes during the show including a little lingerie outfit with Rusty written on the bum for her boyfriend Russell Brand.
Rapper Jay-Z set a record with his new album, The Blueprint 3, by selling 476,000 copies and being his 11th number 1 album on the Billboard charts.
Jay-Z is officially the solo artist with the most #1 albums… ever, beating out Elvis’ reign as The King.
The rapper isn’t far from having the most #1 albums by ANY act. He is in second place behind The Beatles. They scored 15 number ones through their career, so Jay-Z is close. At only 39 years old, he has time to catch up and take over.
All of Beyonce’s solo cds have gone to number 1 as well, so maybe we have named music royalty.
If you want to be a part of the record, you can get all of his albums at Indigo.
Kanye West jumped up on stage during the VMA awards when the award for best video was given to Taylor Swift and pretty much ’stold’ it away from her. She looks really lost and embarassed. Poor thing. SO not fair!
He has since apologized on his website saying that he was in the wrong for going on stage and taking away Taylor’s moment. He still goes on to say that Beyonce’s video was the best of the decade.. he then apologized to his fans, MTV and said he will apologize to Taylor.
Maybe she will fogive him, but these kind of nasty acts live on for a LONG time in the media and people’s memories!
At least Beyonce showed a great deal of class here when she invited Taylor to finish her acceptance speech after winning the video of the year!
Hopefully this trend of acting badly and then apologizing for it and thinking it makes the whole thing alright, does not catch on…Chris Brown anyone?
