With the answer to the question Chris or Roberto on the verge of being revealed in next weeks Bachelorette finale, People magazine has put Ali Fedotowsky on the cover of their latest magazine and written their feature article on her.
Rumors have been flying about who Ali chooses, including one that suggests she picks no one and walks away from the show still single.
In People’s exclusive interview Ali states “I was trying to be smart and fall in love with my heart — but use my head too. Sometimes the right thing is the hardest thing to do, and it’s definitely hard to hurt somebody. No matter what happens in the end, I hurt somebody.”
ESPN reported and Dancing With The Stars contestant Erin Andrews has had a rough go of it these last few months. First she gets a stalker, who seriously threatens her, he finally goes away and now she finds out that a hotel was giving her stalker easy access to her.
Celebrity blog TMZ broke the news that Erin Andrews is now suing a chain of hotels who let Michael David Barrett (her stalker) stay in the room next door to her in Chicago. If that wasn’t bad enough apparently they allowed him to create peephole video of Erin by filming through the hotel room door. Rumour has it he uploaded the peephole video of Erin Andrews to the Internet, but we aren’t going to search to find out if it’s true. If that’s not enough to make you want to stay home every night then I don’t know what is!
Erin Andrews is suing the hotels for $1.2 million for negligence. While suing the whole hotel chain for millions may be over the top, the employee who gave out her room number should probably start looking for a new job.
It has begun. The summer blockbuster season that is. Iron Man 2 is sure to rake in the dough this weekend, but the big question on everyone’s mind is will it be as good as the first one? Some sequels to comic books movies can’t hold onto the successful formula of their predecessors (Hellboy: The Golden Army, Batman Returns), but sometimes the sequel is surprisingly better (X2: X-Men United, Superman 2, The Dark Knight). Which will Iron Man 2 be?
Iron Man 2 starts where the first movie left off, with Tony Stark (played once more by Robert Downey Jr.) announcing to the world at a press conference that he’s Iron Man. Unknown to him at this point is that Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke) holds a grudge against him and is building a weapon to destroy him. Flash forward six months, and you find Tony Stark showboating at an expo, and telling congress where to go with their orders that he turn Iron Man over to them. Within the first twenty minutes you’ll get a clear idea of where the movie is going. There is no attempt to add any complex plots or convoluted twists. What you get is a straight forward action movie that stays true to its comic book roots. Like most comic book movies new characters are added, which in this case includes the Black Widow (played by Scarlett Johansson), Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell), and Ivan Vanko (also known as Whiplash). Samuel L. Jackson’s role as Nick Fury has a longer screen time this time around, and you don’t have to wait until the credits stop rolling to see him. Don Cheadle replaces Terrence Howard as Rhodey, but to be honest you’ll hardly notice the difference.
So the question remains, is Iron Man 2 as good as the first movie? That is a hard question to answer because the special effects are great, the action is adrenaline inducing, and Robert Downey Jr. really continues to do Tony Stark justice, but eventually it has to be said that it’s not. What’s missing is Jeff Bridges. The villain of the first movie was much stronger, whereas Sam Rockwell’s Justin Hammer comes across as a whiny little rich kid who deserves to be slapped. Mickey Rourke’s Whiplash character was a great addition, and he definitely needed a mouthpiece behind him since his character was so quiet, but unfortunately Sam Rockwell wasn’t the right person for the role. Justin Hammer was a much older character in the comic books anyway, and we all ready saw the rich guy villain the first time around. One of the first villains from the comic book that come to mind when Iron Man is brought up is the Mandarin, and this movie would have excelled much better if he had been chosen as the main protagonist instead. Or at the very least, the villain behind Whiplash.
When all is said and done Iron Man 2 will make a lot of money for Paramount, and most people who see it will leave satisfied. It will be one of the top movies of the summer. The unfortunate thing with sequels is that they will always be compared to what came before, and in this case the movie is slightly weaker. It is definitely still strong enough to hold its own however, and it is worth the price of admission. And if you want to see what Marvel has in store for the future, make sure you stick around after the credits to watch the short bonus.
If you watch Dancing With The Stars you may remember former New York Giants contestant Lawrence Taylor for his time on the 8th season of the television show alongside Denise Richards and Holly Madison. Lawrence Taylor is back in the news today as he has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
Police said Lawrence Taylor was arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old runaway in New York City. The 51 year old Football Hall of Fame inductee is currently being held in county jail pending a hearing today according to news reports.
The young girl was questioned by police and they have also arrested a man who is reportedly her pimp.
Lawrence Taylor’s lawyer says he will be pleading not guilty to the charges.
This isn’t his first time in trouble with the law, but this is the most shocking. We want to believe for everyone’s sake that this isn’t true.
Veteran actress Lynn Redgrave died Sunday night from breast cancer. She was 67 years old.
Lynn Redgrave comes from an amazing acting family which includes her sister Vanessa, niece Joely Richardson (of Nip/Tuck fame) and deceased niece Natasha Richardson. According to the Globe & Mail, Lynn’s death comes a year after her niece Natasha Richardson died from head injuries sustained in a skiing accident in Canada and just a month after the death of her older brother, Corin Redgrave.
Redgrave had many wonderful accomplishments in her professional career including Oscar nominations for Georgy Girl and Gods and Monsters and Tony nominations for Mrs. Warren’s Profession, Shakespeare for My Father and The Constant Wife. In recent years, she also made appearances in the television shows like Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives.
“Our beloved mother Lynn Rachel passed away peacefully after a seven year journey with breast cancer,” her family said in a statement Monday. “She lived, loved and worked harder than ever before. The endless memories she created as a mother, grandmother, writer, actor and friend will sustain us for the rest of our lives. Our entire family asks for privacy through this difficult time.”
Hollywood has run out of ideas. That may seem to be a bold statement, but when you look at all the remakes and sequels we are inundated with year in and year out you start to understand why this comment is being made. This weekend the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street premieres, and next week sees Iron Man take to the skies once more. We’ve got the Karate Kid and The A-Team opening the same weekend in June. All remakes are not made equal however. There have been some that have been much better than the original, and some that take the original idea and move it in a bold new direction. Here is my list of favourites.
Star Trek: Last year’s Star Trek remake was simply put incredible. I went in expecting to be let down, after all who could possible replace William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. Director J.J. Abrams (Lost, Mission Impossible 3) created a world similar to the one Trekkies knew and loved, and found a way to make it new and refreshing. Now if only all remakes learned from this.
Evil Dead 2: This one is unique. Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, Drag Me To Hell) made a low-budget horror movie called The Evil Dead, then lost the rights to his own movie. In order to make a sequel and show a recap of what came before, he had to reshoot the first movie. Therefore the first seven minutes of Evil Dead 2 is a remake of the original movie. Technically this movie is a sequel, but the entire feeling of the movie changed with this second superior entry.
Batman Begins: Christopher Nolan (Memento, The Prestige) took a series that had started to flounder, and turned it around by rebooting it. After Batman and Robin, Batman was dangerously close to becoming the campy superhero he was in the 60’s when Adam West donned the cape and cowl. Christopher Nolan however changed Batman into the dark, brooding character he was in the comic books and added a hint of realism to his world. He even chose villains that non-comic book readers may never have heard of, and turned it into a successful movie.
Halloween: I never liked the Halloween movies until Rob Zombie came along. To me Michael Myers was as plain and boring as a lot of slasher movie characters are. Rob Zombie brought a terrifying depth to the character, and my only regret was waiting until the DVD was released to see this one.
Charlie’s Angels: I was too young to really understand why the Charlie’s Angels television series was so popular, but when the first movie came out in 2000 I suddenly understood. Sexy women, fast action, dry humour, this movie had it all. The sequel wasn’t nearly as good, but you can’t win them all.
The Hills Have Eyes: Wes Craven has pumped out so many movies that there were bound to be some that I didn’t enjoy. The original The Hills Have Eyes was one of them. There was just something missing from it, something that begged for the movie to be remade. The remake added a terrifying, disturbing edge to the original, and at times you want to close your eyes or turn the lights on.
Mission Impossible: Like him or hate him, Tom Cruise has starred in a lot of great movies. The first Mission Impossible movie was one of them. Based on the successful television series, this movie was riddled with twists and turns and kept your attention from start to finish.
In Lindsay Lohan news, her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley has spoke out against today’s online reports claiming she is in violation of her probation. Holley told RadarOnline.com; “Though there have been occasional weeks when Lindsay has missed her alcohol treatment class, she has always managed to make up the class the following week by attending two classes. For this reason, we contend that Ms. Lohan is in substantial compliance with the conditions of her probation.”
It’s also been revealed that she has agreed to let her lawyer meet with her father’s lawyer Lisa Bloom next week to discuss recent bad press and her sister Ali. Last week, her father and the sheriff visited her home to check on the welfare of her kid sister.
Late yesterday, Lindsay boarded a flight to NYC with her sister Ali.
Rocker Bret Michaels has been in ICU since last week recovering from a deadly brain hemorrhage. Michaels rep has now told People Magazine that Michael is “conscious, talking very slowly and in good spirits.”
Dr. Melvin Field director of the Florida Hospital Neuroscience Institute spoke with People Magazine and said that “most people [who suffer this type of brain hemorrhage] don’t remember most of their hospitalization – they have no recollection”. Michaels will remain under the care of doctors, who discovered the Celebrity Apprentice contestant has a side-effect called hyponatremia, a lack of sodium in blood that can cause seizures. His rep says he has not had any seizures.
Meanwhile, Michaels band Poison have released a new song on Bret’s website. “While not the final mix, I took some of the vocal we have laid down on the bus during the tour and comped together a piece of new music for you all,” Pete Evick said on BretMichaels.com. I hope you all use it, like I have this week, to remind you how amazing my great friend Bret is.” Visit BretMichaels.com to hear the track.
Wow! This is a shocker we did not see coming! While everyone was so concerned with what was happening in her divorce, Sandra Bullock has adopted a baby boy.
Sandra Bullock is now the mother of Louis Bardo Bullock, a 3½-month-old boy from New Orleans. People revealed the first photos of Sandra and her new baby this week.
According to the story, Sandra Bullock and Jesse James filed for adoption four years ago. The celebrity couple brought the baby home in January, but had kept it a secret until now. Now Sandra Bullock is finalized the adoption as a single parent. It is amazing that with all of this publicity and paparazzi, Sandra Bullock has been able to keep her baby a secret. I don’t think anyone suspected until right now.
This changes a lot about Jesse James behaviour. He will not get to raise this baby now that his cheating actions have come to light. It makes you wonder what he was thinking.
We expect to see a lot more photos of Sandra and her baby now that the truth has come out. We hope Sandra Bullock can shield her new baby from all of the drama in her life. We think she’s going to be a great mom.
Fans patiently hold their breath waiting to hear news on rocker and reality television star Bret Michaels who suffered a brain hemmorhage this weekend. As of this morning doctors report that Bret Michaels is still in intensive care.
Reports surfaced Friday night that Bret Michaels had been rushed to an undisclosed hospital with bleeding at the base of his brain stem. He was listed in critical condition. Sources now say Bret Michaels initially called the ambulance because he had a terrible headache. People reports that a headache like that is the first sign of a this sort of hemmorhage. Michaels is reportedly still suffering from the headache and is sedated.
Fans are being updated on his condition by the BretMichaels.com fan site. They say Bret is under 24 hour supervision and doctors are trying to find the source of the bleeding. They wrote “Please remember Bret is, and always has been, a fighter and survivor and is under the best medical care possible.”

Whenever somebody tells me about a movie I’ve never heard of that I absolutely must see, I’m ceptical. Most of the time the movie turns out to be some artistic piece that doesn’t interest me at all (Willem Defoe’s latest Anti-Christ is a perfect example of this), but sometimes they’re right. There are usually a few word of mouth movies that do incredible at the box office each year as well, such as Paranormal Activity, The Blair Witch Project, and District 9, but the following movies are the ones that didn’t get the word out well enough, and in some cases have fallen into obscurity.
The Jacket – This movie from 2005 stars Keira Knightley and Adrien Brody. It’s about a Gulf War veteran wrongly sent to a mental institution where he is experimented on. I think the description of the movie is what turned some people away, but don’t let it. This movie keeps your attention from start to finish, and has a lot more to it than meets the eye.
The Machinist – Christian Bale stars as Trevor Reznik in this 2004 movie about an industrial worker who begins to doubt his own sanity. Be prepared to watch this movie a second time shortly after your first viewing because the hints to the truth are subtle, and you’ll want to make sure they’re there.
The Orphanage – This Spanish ghost story from 2007 is one of the scariest of its kind. It has no gore, but has plenty of suspense, and you will find yourself sitting on the edge of your seat throughout a lot of it. Paranormal Activity may have gotten more attention, but this movie is the better of the two.
Children of Men – What would happen to the world if we were no longer able to have children? That’s the question this 2006 movie starring Clive Owen asks. The plot is simple, Theo Faron (played by Clive Owen) must escort a pregnant woman to a sanctuary at sea where the birth of her child may help scientists’ discovery a way to save humanity.
Serenity – Serenity is based on the cancelled Joss Whedon TV show Firefly. To be honest I never watched the TV show before seeing this movie, and after watching it I went out and bought the show on DVD. It’s a great action-packed, well-written, science fiction series, and the 2005 movie is even better. It’s a shame the series, or the movies, didn’t get the attention they deserved.
Zodiac – I’ve liked almost every movie David Fincher has directed (the only exception is Benjamin Button which I thought was given much more attention than it deserved), and 2007’s Zodiac is one of the best. It tells the true story of three individuals tracking the notorious Zodiac killer in San Francisco during the 1970’s, and it stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey, Jr..
Sex Drive – People loved Superbad, Knocked Up, and even last year’s The Hangover, so why didn’t they flock to see 2008’s Sex Drive? It’s about a group of best friends driving across the country so one of them can meet up with a babe he met online and lose his virginity. At the very least it’s worth it to see Seth Green’s sarcastic Amish character Ezekiel.
Russell Hantz is the ultimate villain on Survivor, but this reality television star might be buying into his characterization too much. Russell Hantz was arrested for assault last night in Louisiana.
TMZ reports that Russell was partying at the Festival International de Louisiane when he got into an altercation with someone. He allegedly shoved the person to the ground. Police arrested him immediately and took him to jail. He was released shortly after. Russell may be a villain on the show, but I never took him to be a bully
Since Russell Hantz is still in the running to win the million dollars on Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, this will probably go to court. He is already a millionaire and could win another. What would you do if a millionaire assaulted you?
Rumours have been circulating this week that supermodel Naomi Campbell received a blood diamond from former African despot Charles Taylor. Naomi is denying the accusation, but that isn’t stopping the world from talking about it. Naomi Campbell does NOT want to talk about it. When an ABC interviewer pushed her on the topic Naomi lost it on the cameraman.
As soon as Naomi was asked about the diamond, she said she wasn’t there to talk about that. She ignored repeated questions about the event. Finally she just thanks the interviewer and gets up. Right when you think Naomi is going to be cool and not lose her temper, she shoves the cameraman. There was no reason for her to do it. She just had to get one shot in.
Naomi Campbell has a history of losing her temper, so in the grand scheme of things this little shove isn’t so bad. It was still unnecessary though. The cameraman had nothing to do with it.
The family drama continues for the Lohan clan. TMZ is reporting that Michael Lohan has just showed up at daughter Lindsay Lohan’s home with the LA County Sheriff’s department. Michael asked the officials to visit because he was concerned about his youngest daughter, Lindsay’s 16 year old sister Ali.
Apparently the officials spoke with Ali and had no issues. She was permitted to stay with her sister, but Michael is not giving up. He’s now going to the LA County Department of Children and Family Services to file a report.
Believe it or not, we are actually starting to feel sorry for Lindsay and her siblings. The whole thing just seems like a blatant publicity stunt cooked up by press-hungry Michael Lohan.
Various media outlets are reporting that Heather Locklear has been arrested for hit-and-run.
The incident occurred early Saturday morning. Locklear hit a no-parking sign on a public street in LA and left the scene of the accident without notifying police. According to People Magazine, despite leaving the scene, police were able to trace the accident back to her and cite her for a misdemeanor hit- and-run.
“While Locklear was technically arrested, she was not handcuffed or taken to a station because it was just a misdemeanor charge,” Ross Bonfiglio, the police spokesperson says. “She was cooperative, but I can’t give any information about any statements she made. She was cited and released. She signed a document stating she would make a court appearance.”
“It appears she drove up on a curb and hit the sign,” says Bonfiglio. “We don’t have any hard evidence that alcohol was involved. We don’t know if anyone was in the car with her at the time.”
Locklear is on probation after a DUI arrest in 2008.

Iron Man 2 – Movie Review

Top Movie Remakes

Great Movies Of The Last Ten Years You May Never Have Seen

Survivor’s Russell Hantz Arrested
Friday, April 23rd, 2010Russell Hantz is the ultimate villain on Survivor, but this reality television star might be buying into his characterization too much.

Naomi Campbell Snaps At Interviewer
Friday, April 23rd, 2010Rumours have been circulating this week that supermodel Naomi Campbell received a blood diamond from former African despot Charles Taylor.
Check out the video of Naomi’s interview here:

Lindsay Lohan Gets a Visit from LA Sheriff
Thursday, April 22nd, 2010Apparently the officials spoke with Ali and had no issues.

Heather Locklear Arrested for Hit-and-Run
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010Various media outlets are reporting that Heather Locklear has been arrested for hit-and-run.
