Celebrity bloggers can’t believe it. This weekend, Angelina Jolie and her father Jon Voight were photographed on vacation in Venice together. Everyone is stunned that the formerly estranged father-daughter are actually going out in public together with the whole family.

Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie have been estranged since Angelina cut ties in 2001. There have been harsh words in the past, but in the past few months rumour spread that they were trying to work out their differences. It seems they have found some common ground. According to Radar Online, that common ground is the six Jolie-Pitt kids.

Jon Voight told the celebrity gossip blog, “I’ve been waiting so long to hug my grandchildren and it was amazing, they are the most beautiful, loving kids you could imagine and I’m not just saying that because I’m their grandfather, they really are something special… Angelina and Brad are so happy together and they are the most amazing, loving parents I’ve ever seen. It truly moved me to see how Angie is as a mom, I am so proud of her - she has so much love to give and to share with the children and with Brad.”

With Maddox being 8 years old now, it is time to let bygones be bygones.

Voight called the family trip in Venice lovely. While no plans have been made for their next visit, hopefully this day outing will spark a family reunion. It’s a pleasant change to have a celebrity family coming together for their children. Usually all we hear about is them thinking only about themselves.
