On Monday, April 23, Real Style had the opportunity to attend the Canadian premiere of the fashion documentary Straight/Curve, in partnership with Fashion Group International. The screening took place at the Isabel Bader Theatre in Toronto, and featured a panel with plus sized models Robyn Lawley and Denise Bidot, who star in the film. This week, Toronto Women’s Fashion Week returned to the catwalks at One Yonge Street, and featured a bevy of designers who ranged from rising stars to beloved experts. From celebratory spirit at Farley Chatto to an empowering display from emerging local talent Lesley Talent, Real Style was in the front rows for all the action at TWFW Fall 2018.

With her focus on body positivity and her gleaming, sequined frocks, Lesley Hampton is quickly making a name for herself on the Canadian runways. Most recently, the talented rising star unveiled a Spring 2018 lineup at Toronto Women’s Fashion Week. We spoke to the designer about the powerful theme behind her latest collection, her passion for diversity in fashion and her dream celebrity clients.

Although the international runways may have wrapped up their shows, fashion season is in full swing in Toronto with the sophomore term of Toronto Women’s Fashion Week. TW, which was launched earlier this year, is currently presenting its lineup of Spring 2018 collections from Canadian designers.
