With the Spring 2018 shows at Milan Fashion Week officially drawing to a close today, the Italian runways have already pointed to the leading trends for next season. In true Milan fashion, the catwalks unveiled multicoloured hues, flowing frocks and eye-catching, swirling prints. From Dolce & Gabbana to Moschino, here are the best designer looks spotted at Milan Fashion Week.

Dolce & Gabbana

At Dolce & Gabbana, Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana unveiled a Queen of Hearts theme, which was suitably feminine and luxurious. Staying true to the romantic theme, the designs captured a theme of royalty with subtle sex appeal. Models walked the runway in black slip dresses with corset bodices and sheer skirts. From lace dresses to D&G’s classic pastel flowery prints, the collection was filled with ladylike style. A Queen of Hearts card motif made an appearance on a knee-length frock with three-quarter sleeves. Meanwhile, sequins, bejewelled and intensely embellished jackets and puffed sleeves were all statement looks.

Salvatore Ferragamo

The Salvatore Ferragamo runway was alight with a grey and yellow python print that was a signature pattern. The print made its way onto a halter neck dress, bandeau top and even a peplum skirt. Solid tones also dominated the runway, in the form of a light grey, turquoise and coral. Laser cut designs brought visual interest to zippered coats and sheath dresses, for a finishing touch.

Versace

At Versace, designer Donatella Versace presented a number of old and new faces from the modelling world. Rising stars like Cindy Crawford’s 16-year-old daughter Kaia Gerber shared the stage with the likes of Claudia Schiffer, Helena Christensen, Naomi Campbell and Cindy herself. Yellow and black patterns stole the spotlight, in the form of a cheetah print pantsuit and the timeless Versace baroque print on scarves. Cropped black blazers and pleated skirts offered a taste of minimalism, with gold detail embroidered on dresses and added as studs to jackets.

Moschino

Designer Jeremy Scott took his design cues from ballet, which was evident in the form of oversized feathery tutus and pastel pink hues. As always, the unconventional designer also drew inspiration from cartoons and popular culture, and featured a series of cropped My Little Pony baby tees. Models strut the catwalk in fishnet stockings, studded black boots, leather biker jackets and corset tops.
