Show Strategic Skin With The Taylor Swift-Approved “M-Slit” Trend
Taylor Swift has been looking ultra-sexy lately, and if it’s her single lady status letting all that innocent little country girl stuff fly out the window, we say let it fly faster than you can say ‘never, ever’ fifteen times. The new and improved sexy Swift showed up to the Brit Awards recently in one of Spring 2013’s most blazing hot trends, the gam-baring, provocative M-Slit dress.
While Angelina’s cut-to-there frock was the most buzzed over slit of 2012 (or maybe even the past decade), this season, designers from Matthew Williamson and Stella McCartney to Elie Saab and Alexander Wang showed that we’re having an “M” moment. Dresses and skirts were sliced with panels in an M (leaving legs bare to strut and covering the back and very front…ahem…centre area).
Runway To Real Way
We love the more wearable, Swift-y incarnation of the trend, where a little is left to the imagination through sheer panels where the ‘bare’ would be. Bold belts and sheer accents are two more of this season’s most sought-after trends, and Swift is (for the first time, we admit) stepping into trendsetter territory in her own right. If you’re looking to pull off this trend and no red carpets are in your near future, we recommend opting for a simple white or nude tank and an M-Slit cotton jersey maxi skirt.
