5 Canadian Designers Target Should Collaborate With
Target has announced that in celebration of coming to Canada they will be teaming up with the Toronto Fashion Incubator to give an emerging Canadian designer the change to sell at Canadian Target stores in 2014. The lucky designer will be the winner of the annual TFI New Labels competition. This is a huge prize for the lucky designer and a big coo for Canadian fashion that Target is willing to work with our designers to help them gain popularity. We have picked some of our picks for Canadian designers we hope to see stocking the shelves in the future.
As one of our favourite Canadian design teams, this pairing seems like a match made in heaven. Greta Constantine has a great romantic style that would be perfect for a holiday collaboration. Their soft dresses would be a sell out. They chic and relaxed feeling separates are perfect for any woman who wants to give their weekend wear a sophisticated update.
Marie Saint Pierre
Montreal’s Marie Saint Pierre is know for being avante guard and cutting edge, so why not bring her unique outlook to the masses for statement pieces at a low price. We can definitely see some of her great jackets and dresses with interesting cuts being popular on the shelves.
Every woman want to look sexy, so give them the luxe looks offered by Joeffer Caoc at a reasonable price. From updated office wear with curve hugging pencil skirts to eye catching colours and form flattering evening wear every woman would love to be able to afford a Joeffer Caoc of their own.
Lucian recently released a lower priced collection for the modern working woman, but we would love for Target to allow him to transform some of his stunning pieces from his collection into affordable pieces. Gorgeous lace and feathers made up his fall collection that we would love to be able to get a taste of.
Target always seems to collaborate with the more dramatic designers, and it doesn’t get any more daring than Evan Biddell. While Evan was absent from the scene for a few seasons, he return to Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2013 with great colours and prints for the season with his always edgy style. Evan could bring something fresh to Target and show the world that Canada is cool.
