Designer Picks: Marie Saint Pierre’s Five Top Looks For Fall 2011
This season we have turned to Montreal fashion designer Marie Saint Pierre for her take on the five fall must-haves for our exclusive Designer Picks series. Marie’s cutting edge sense of style and avante-guard vision keeps her label current and on-trend but with a unique element of surprise. Her picks for the season offer something for every event from formal evening wear to office appropriate pieces. See Marie Saint Pierre’s top five picks from her fall/winter collection:
1. Boiled wool coat with inlaid sequins and asymmetrical hemline (PECA) : Clean cut and gorgeous fabric – the sequins are really embedded in the wool so the coat nicely plays with the light. This garment is one of a kind!
2. Shouldered long coat in double wool crepe (ORISTANO) : A strong statement piece. The bold color, the fitted line and the pointed shoulders would make any woman feel beautiful, modern and powerful.
3 Double collar zip-up jacket in double jersey (GORIZIA) : This pieces makes you looks like a million dollars and is extremely comfortable. It is a new corporate look.
4. Stretch micro tulle trompe-l’oeil maxi dress (FLORE) : Modern and versatile, it can be dressed up or dressed down for a night at the beach with nice flip-flops and a large handbag.
5. Trompe-l’oeil silk veil shirtdress (REGIO) : The shirtdress is a classic Marie Saint Pierre piece. This year, I gave it an androgyne twist which I think is a must for fall.
