Check Out The Star-Studded List Of Co-Stars In Robert Downey Jr’s The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle

Robert Downey Jr is no stranger to starring alongside some of the best of the best from Hollywood. After all the man is one of the many stars in the Marvel Extended Universe, which includes The Avengers. If he keeps up his pace of starring in films with lots of actors though, soon you might just be playing Six Degrees with him instead of Kevin Bacon. With his latest film, The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, he just adds to his list.

Yesterday the Iron Man star revealed the cast of his upcoming film (release date of April 12, 2019), and it’s extremely impressive. Along with a graphic of his co-stars, Downey Jr. tweeted “I am most pleased to announce the stellar voice cast joining me on #TheVoyageofDoctorDolittle.” Emma Thompson will speak for Polynesia the parrot, Ralph Fiennes will portray play Barry the tiger and Spider-man actor (and already a Downey Jr. co-star) Tom Holland will play Jip the Dog. If that’s not impressive enough, the cast also includes Selena Gomez as Betsy the giraffe, alongside Octavia Spencer (Dab-Dab the duck), Rami Malek (gorilla Chee-Chee), Craig Robinson (Fleming the mouse), Kumail Nanjiani (an ostrich named Plimpton), Carmen Ejogo (lioness Regine) and Frances De La Tour (Ginko-Who-Soars). Previously Jim Broadbent, Antonio Banderas, and Michael Sheen were announced as well, as live-action characters.

Doctor Dolittle is based on the 1920s series of children’s books by Hugh Lofting, which also produced the 1967 and 1998 films, the latter of which also had several direct to video sequels.
