Gillian Anderson And David Duchovny Take A Knee On The X-Files Set

The “Take A Knee” movement is growing beyond the world of sports, and now X-Files stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny have joined in.

When football star Colin Kaepernick took a knee to protest injustice before an NFL game we’re betting he didn’t think it would have started a whole new movement. It’s spread across the world of professional sports, and over the weekend Stevie Wonder joined the movement during a concert, stating “It is only through life we can make life happen through ourselves and each other” while on his knee. Pharrell Williams did the same before his performance at a benefit concert where he said “If I want to get on my knees right now for the people in my city…for the people in my state — that’s what that flag is for.” Now Hollywood is taking part as well.

While filming the upcoming season of The X-Files, Anderson and Duchovny took a moment to have the above photo snapped of them taking a knee and linking arms. Anderson posted it on her Twitter and Instagram accounts, stating “#TheXFiles #TakeAKnee.”

With all the criticism facing the professional athletes for taking part in the movement, it’s only a matter of time before the celebrities taking part face the same. It will be interesting to see where it all ends up.
