Katy Perry Is Back With A New Album, And Discusses Taylor Swift Feud
Katy Perry is officially everywhere at the moment. Not only did she release her new album this past Friday, but the 32-year-old megastar also spent the weekend livestreaming, appeared on the TV series “The Therapist”, and discussed her ongoing feud with fellow singer Taylor Swift.
While the numbers haven’t been released quite yet on how well Witness, Katy Perry’s new album, is doing, the singer has been doing everything she can do help promote it. During her livestreaming event on YouTube called “Katy Perry – Witness World Wide,” fans got to see her doing all sorts of activities, even yoga. The 96 hour event will end later today with a small concert in Los Angeles.
During the episode of “The Therapist” that aired on Friday, Perry talked to licensed therapist Siri Sat Nam Singh about a variety of topics, including suicidal thoughts she had in her past. She also talked to him about how she has struggled at times being just herself, and not her public persona of Katy Perry. She even revealed that her new, shorter hairstyle was conceived partly because she didn’t want to look like Katy Perry anymore.
It was on Saturday that Perry discussed her feud with Taylor Swift during a conversation with Arianna Huffington. She said that she is “ready to let it go,” before going on to say that “I forgive her, and I’m sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her … I love her, and I want the best for her. And I think she’s a fantastic songwriter.”
Even after the busy weekend for Perry, it’s just the beginning of a jam packed summer. With a new tour starting shortly, and her music set to be aired all summer long over the airwaves, the season of Perry has started.
