Oscar de la Renta Develops Diffusion Line For The Outnet

Oscar de la Renta has announced a new diffusion line to launch at The Outnet later this month for the savvy fashionista. Get ready to start shopping ladies, because this union is going sure to be a big hit with ODLR fans who previously haven’t been able to afford his luxurious designs.

The new 24-piece collection will be a bit less expensive than his current collection and feature everything you will need from dresses to blouses, pants and shorts. They said that they kept costs down by using older fabrics, prints and designs from Oscar’s main collection. These pieces in the collection are ODLR looks that, for whatever reason, never made it down the runway. Prices for the new Oscar de la Renta collection will range from $325 to $1,295 when it launches on February 26th.

This is the first time that The Outnet, Net-A-Porter’s less expensive sister site, has featured an exclusive collection. Net-A-Porter features a number of exclusive designs, but up until now The Outnet has focused on surplus merchandise. This is very interesting now that they will be getting into the exclusive designs market, especially since their debut collection is Oscar de la Renta’s first lower priced line in eight years.

To make the collection even more exciting, fashionista Olivia Palermo will be face of the online campaign for the collection. The Outnet told WWD, they chose Olivia as the face of the line because “It’s all about reinterpreting classic styles, so we wanted someone polished who represented the Oscar brand but that also was someone that Oscar doesn’t typically use.”
