Vivienne Westwood’s clothes appear in a very different campaign this spring… for the English National Ballet. The iconic designer has lent some of her creations to the ENB to help make their first ever campaign magical and yet extremely contemporary. “I am thrilled that Vivienne Westwood has agreed to let us use her clothes in our first campaign,” said English National Ballet artistic director Tamara Rojo. “It’s a dream come true to be able to collaborate with someone of such stature. Her designs capture the creativity and ambition of our dancers who, in turn, add drama and movement to the clothes.”
Vivienne Westwood is the first designer to collaborate with the ENB, and there will hopefully be many more fashion-meets-ballet collaborations to follow. Our favourite campaign image from the Vivienne Westwood-ENB series, above, is “Like Humans, But More Graceful,” featuring (from left to right), Jennie Harrington, Sayako Tomiyoshi, Daniel Kraus, Stina Quagebeur, Ksenia Ovsyanick and Laurent Liotardo.
