Kim Kardashian stunned fans when she wore a tuxedo earlier this week while paying a visit with sister Kourtney Kardashian to the Late Show with David Letterman. Although Kim hasn’t been concerned about hiding her growing baby bump ever since announcing the news that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Kanye West on New Year’s Eve, Kim’s dramatic tuxedo look definitely seemed like she was finally ready to start covering up. Just when we thought Kim might be following boyfriend Kanye West’s advice to take her fashion into a much more timeless direction, we remembered that Kim has worn a tux many, many times before, even at the height of her single-lady status. Kim Kardashian wore a sequined tuxedo, complete with a bow tie, to watch brother Rob Kardashian compete on Dancing with the Stars in late 2011. Kim had recently just split from husband of 72 days, Kris Humphries, so she had her family close by to lean on, but she definitely made a point of showing who wears the pants when it comes to the life of Kim K.

Kim Kardashian must have really loved her tux! Soon after appearing on Dancing with the Stars in a sequined tuxedo, Kim wore another one for the Kardashian family Christmas card of 2011. The only family, excluding Mom Kris Jenner, wore a tuxedo-inspired outfit for the card photo session, but Kim clearly found more use for her outfit outside of the photo shoot.

In November of 2011, Kim Kardashian matched what looks like the same tuxedo from the Kardashian Christmas card with black and white checkered lip tattoos: “I found these Violent Lips lip tattoos in Kylie’s room and Mario and I thought it would be fun to try out a new look!
