Sometimes the best part about shopping is looking in the windows, especially around the holidays when department stores put out their most impressive window displays of the year. These are the Canadian holiday window displays that keep us coming back for another peek!
Leave it to Holt Renfrew to make ice fishing seem high fashion. We’re in love with Holt Renfrew’s windows on Toronto’s Bloor Street where mannequins are decked out in designer duds all the while taking part in some of the most Canadian winter activities we can think of: ice-fishing, snow ball fighting and catching snowflakes.
La Maison Ogilvy
For generations, Montreal families have headed down to the corner of St-Catherine and Rue de la Montagne to see the annual Ogilvy holiday windows. From frogs fishing to monkeys dancing, the windows have an old school charm that even a 21st century child can appreciate.
The Bay
If you truly want to appreciate the magic of The Bay’s Queen Street windows in Toronto, make sure to go with small kids… especially if they’re en route to visiting Santa. There’s so much attention to detail in the Santa’s workshop window display — from the tiny presents lining the shelves to the names on Santa’s “nice list,” it’s almost like a movie set.
