New York Fashion Week may have just wrapped, but we’ve already moved our attention over to London, where the next big fashion week is in full effect. Here are some of the best shows so far!

Mary Katrantzou
Mary Katrantzou’s Spring 2013 collection was influenced by the idea of stamps and banknotes as representatives of culture. Katrantzou used A-lines, sheaths, boyfriend jackets, trousers and shirtdresses as her canvases for her bold digital prints. “I wanted to show I could do something different with my work,” said the designer, and she did! We love the looser feel of Katrantzou’s Spring 2013, which is completely different from last season’s focus on all things bodycon. The designer also worked with denim for the first, which was an unexpected move in a very exciting direction, if you ask us!
Top Shop Unique
Top Shop Unique’s mostly black and white palette for Spring 2013 was ’90s minimalism at its best. We loved the diagonally zipped dresses, oversized coats and odd injections of colour, like a stand-out bright yellow boyfriend jacket. “Bauhaus was a reference for us, after the exhibition in London this summer,” reads a blurb about the collection in Topshop magazine. “It’s about the layered and textured look of the tapestries…We have been influenced by a nineties aesthetic too–like Corinne Day’s pictures of Kate Moss.” Fashionistas Elle Fanning and Olivia Palermo sat front row.
Jonathan Saunders
Jonathan Saunders’ Spring 2013 was one of the most coveted tickets at London Fashion Week so far. The first look started the show off with a bang. A model wore a second-skin nude top with a metallic skirt that resembled liquid metal. Saunders called his Spring 2013 collection “the hardest collection I’ve ever done,” and we can see why. Composed of many prints that were meant to trick the eye, Saunders indeed reminded us that he’s one of the masters of the print renaissance with his ability to design holographic inspired looks. We also loved his colour blocked suits and and his silver, black and green sequined slip.
