Now that summer’s floral pants have been put away to return in the Spring, it’s time for it’s posh cousin- the richly embossed ornate pant. We ate up all the deep, dark, romance of fashion on the runways for fall, and the intensity of over-the-top embellishment didn’t stop at the waist. Designers from Canadian favourite Erdem to Marni gave us a trouser spectacle with these decorative bottoms in cigarette-leg and suit-pant styles in textures from brocade to lace. Whether paired with a basic staple white boyfriend tee on top for the more timid, or blasted into fashion outer space with competing or complementary prints atop, the gilded pant is as workable as it is intricate.
