Chad Kroeger proposed to Avril Lavigne with a 14-carat diamond ring. We can’t imagine how many Nickelback albums he had to sell to pay for that. Although it’s definitely not the biggest celebrity engagement ring we’ve ever heard of (thank you, Kim Kardashian), it’s definitely up there. Both Hilary Duff and Mariah Carey have 14-carat diamond engagement rings, which cost over an estimated $1 million each.

Avril and Chad have only been together for around 6 months, but apparently things developed rather quickly between the two, despite the 10 year age difference. The two musicians are sharing their love story in this week’s issue of Hello! Canada. “He makes me laugh every day. He takes care of me in every way and is extremely attentive,” Avril told Hello!
Chad seems equally as smitten. The Nickelback frontman told Hello!, “I feel like the luckiest person alive.”
