UK-born, New York-based Rag & Bone founders Marcus Wainwright and David Neville launched their label back in 2002 for the best reason we could think of to start a fashion line: They just couldn’t find a decent pair of jeans, so they decided to make their own. Isn’t that how most true creatives get inspired? Since then, Rag & Bone has become a favourite label, for both denim and casual clothes, of celebrities the world over, from Brits like Victoria Beckham and Jude Law to American superstars like Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon and Brad Pitt. The seemingly effortlessly cool label takes its name from the English “rang and bone” man who collects unwanted household items to sell to merchants. The label itself is collecting nothing but awesome hype, especially since they revealed that Kate Moss will be the star of their very first print campaign. Famed photographer Craig McDean shot Kate around London in the most casual and cool way possible. Wainwright told WWD that the photo shoot “wasn’t in a studio; it was just them on a derelict London street — Kate with minimal makeup, and Craig with a handheld camera and natural light.” Get ready to see Rag & Bone everywhere this fall.
