Canadian designer Marie Saint Pierre is back with her picks and tips for your summer wardrobe. Saint Pierre’s Spring/Summer 2012 Collection was full of clean, minimalist draped designs and edgy leather and pops of yellow, and the avant garde designer revealed to us exclusively what summer fashion pieces you must not (and should) live without.
REAL STYLE NETWORK: What are your 5 wardrobe essentials for Spring/Summer 2012?
MARIE SAINT PIERRE: “A draped flowy dress in white or nude, a touch of yellow, stretch leather pieces (they are comfortable, light and edgy).”
RSN: What are your favourite colours for this season’s fashion?
M.S.P: “Neutrals like beige, black or white accented with a ‘highlighter’ colour touch”.
RSN: What are your favourite summer accessories?
M.S.P: “A nice pair of wedge peep toe boots, and large framed sunglasses are always a must”.
RSN: Which S/S runway trends should the real woman avoid?
M.S.P: “Try to avoid excessive use of prints. Bright colour blocking- we saw too much last year!”
