After nearly 30 years, Fashion Television has been cancelled. The news broke this morning via Twitter when FT’s host Jeanne Beker tweeted the news.
Jeanne said “So surreal. This dream is over: After 27 glorious years FT production ceased today. So sad to see some of my closest colleagues move on. But life’s about change! We have to embrace that. NEW dreams now. Looking forward to working with Bellmedia + evolving the FT brand.” In an unofficial statement Bell Media confirmed Jeanne’s shocking news.

They said they are looking “forward to an exciting future with [Beker], including the development of new projects. Bell Media remains committed to the fashion genre and will continue to grow FashionTelevisionChannel to deliver a broader appeal for viewers, advertisers, and distributors.”
Fashion Television was created by Jay Levin in 1985 with Jeanne Beker as the charismatic host. It has become a symbol of Canada’s passion for fashion, being known worldwide for its fashion coverage. In 2007, the show spawned its own specialty channel by the same name.
