The Heart Truth Red Dress Fashion Show Begins New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week got it signature kick off with the star-studded Heart Truth Red Dress fashion show. Chaka Khan, Minka Kelly, Rose McGowan and more strutted their stuff in red designer gowns to raise awareness of women’s heart health. Top American designers including Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karan, Diane von Furstenberg and Badgley Mischka designed dresses for their celebrity models.

This is the 10^th anniversary of the Red Dress Collection. The campaign was started using the red dresses as a symbol of a red alert that heart disease is the number one killer of women. To celebrate 10 years, they have also teamed up with the Million Heart initiative to try to prevent a million heart attacks and strokes in the US.
