Last night Hollywood celebrated music at the American Music Awards and as always we watched the red carpet for the best and worst dressed. Here are Real Style Network’s picks:
The Good
Selena Gomez walked the red carpet with her boyfriend Justin Bieber, who we will get to later, in a pewter Giorgio Armani gown. Her touch of old Hollywood glamour was a stunning addition to the night. She kept everything monochromatic matching the metallic dress with silver nails, bag, sandals and jewelry.
Heidi Klum shined in a silver Giles dress with sexy little cut-outs. She kept her look fun and dramatic with curl beachy waves and lots of dark eyeliner.
We love retro style, and Jenny McCarthy embodied that look in her purple Victora Beckham dress with its nipped wait and full skirt. With her side swept curls and red lips, she looked like a vision from the set of Mad Men. She made the look modern by adding a pair of black leather booties.
The Bad
All was not pretty at the American Music Awards though, as there were some misses.
Katherine Heigl’s long black Roberto Cavalli dress had all of the right elements, but in the wrong way. The plunging neckline of the black dress showed too much cleavage and the thigh high slit just didn’t work.
Christina Aguilera didn’t walk the red carpet, but instead arrived to perform the hit “Moves Like Jagger” with Maroon 5 in a tiny little silver mini dress that did not fit her properly. She spilled out in all of the wrong places and it made the singer look bigger than she is.
Justin Bieber tried to match the old Hollywood vibe of his girlfriend by wearing a black velvet suit to the AMA’s and slicking back his world famous locks. The look just didn’t work for the teen heartthrob, who should stick to looking youthful.
The Sexy
Jennifer Lopez look super sexy in this black lace number from Zuhair Murad. From the carefully placed lace flowers to the thigh high slit, the 42-year-old mother looked amazing. She followed this up by showing even more skin on stage during a performance of “Papi” and “On The Floor” where she stripped off her animal print Giambattista Valli couture gown and cape to reveal a catsuit of well placed sequins.

Selena looked great and Jenny McCarthy was fabulous. I loved the hair!
I felt bad for Christina, the dress was so horrible on her!!!
