Emerging designer Amanda Lew Kee delighted the crowd at Toronto Fashion Week with her unique sense of style as she presented her Spring 2012 collection. This “designer to watch” brought a breath of fresh air to her youthful pieces that came to life in the Studio environment.
Kee showed a range of silk outfits, which defined comfort for the season. The soft neutral palette of off-white, tan and grey helped display the softness of the garments. Silk blouses, skirts and short dresses were stylish and simplistic. Chiffon maxi skirts encompassed the airy, relaxed feel of Spring.
Kee took a chance adding edgy geometric prints that stood out on silk strapless dresses, button-down blouses, and body hugging dresses. It added interest to long jersey maxi dresses and t-shirts, which may otherwise have been too simple. The New York print neoprene crop zip up, with an electric blue box pleat skirt was eye catching and would be a fun ensemble worth rocking in the spring.
Beautiful chunky gold and silver necklaces were the perfect accessory to add a little glamour to these outfits.
Amanda Lew Kee is definitely one Canadian designer to watch. See more from Toronto Fashion Week.
