The Bay and Tommy Hilfiger are in the midst of a new venture bringing the fashion line to even more stores across the country. Tommy Hilfiger is making a big move into the Canadian fashion market by putting 90 store-in-store environments into The Bay stores this year.
As of last month, The Bay had announced a total of 66 in-store Tommy Hilfiger shop ready offering items including denim and sportswear. The Tommy Hilfiger in store boutiques are already open in The Bay flagship locations in downtown Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. The focus in these shops is menswear for now. Hopefully ladies will see more fashion for them spreading north of the border shortly.
Tommy Hilfiger said in an appearance that it is time for the brand to “explode” in the Canadian market, so expect to see more from the line in the future. His affordable style of fashion is appealing to buyers who want quality for less.
In a press release Tommy Hilfiger said, “We’re looking forward to expanding the distribution of our signature menswear line to more Canadian communities and consumers… Consumers in Canada have a great sense of fashion and I believe our classic American cool style will appeal to them.”
The Bay has been boosting their own fashion profile as of late. They recently brought Madonna’s Material Girl line to Canada and are putting TopShop store-in-store environments in stores. Their The Room environment also plays host to some of the world’s top designers including Giles Deacon, Brian Atwood and L’Wren Scott to name a few.
