New York Fashion Week Spring 2012: Diane Von Furstenberg, DKNY & Zac Posen

In continuing our look at the fashion show from New York Fashion Week, here are the Spring 2012 collections from some of our favourite designers including Diane von Furstenberg, DKNY and Zac Posen. See their lines here:

Diane von Furstenberg
It was fitting for Diane von Furstenberg to show this line on September 11th, as the theme to her collection was optimism. The show opened with white looks including white lace tops and dresses, sheer blouses and relaxed wrap looks. She did move on to add colour with colour-blocked neutrals and pops of bright blue. A multitude of prints came down the runway in every size and colour. Alongside oversized flowing relaxed looks there were also more tailored menswear styles, so that every lady is represented. DKNY
Donna Karan brought her diffusion line back to its roots with a Spring line based in the hustle of the city. There was a wide variety of colours available from black and white looks to bright pinks and blues. Many of the looks and silk dresses flowed behind the models giving the appearance of staying cool on a humid summer day. There were also sharp little suits for the business girl and bikini tops for her day off. All of the looks were accessorized with big floppy hats. Watch the fashion show here:

Zac Posen
In his return to New York, Zac Posen focused on giving fans a line of dresses to fulfill their every desire. The show opened with Coco Rocha in a little nude dress and retro styled hair and makeup. This slight retro theme was continued as Zac offered more dresses. The looks emphasized the waist, but that was one of the few running themes. The dresses themselves were all very different with looks offering ruffles, full skirts, low v necks, sweetheart necklines, fitted jackets and mermaid skirts. See photos from Posen’s show here.
