LG Fashion Week is in full swing in Toronto. Here are some of the highlights from the Spring/Summer 2011 collections of some our favourite Canadian designers: Pink Tartan, Lovas and Joe Fresh. We are loving what we see with very wearable outfits for every occasion.
Pink Tartan
The Pink Tartan show is always one of the hottest attractions of LGFW and this year was no exception. Designer Kimberly Newport-Mimran made it feel like spring in October with her bright and airy collection. Pink Tartan embraced candy colours this season with bright pink, yellow and blue all making a big appearance in the line. These brights were off set with neutrals of white and tan. Patterns were also popular in the form of big stripes and animal prints. We especially loved the beachy loose flowing one-shoulder and halter dresses.
Lovas
Lovas Wesley Badanjak offered up a very chic and sophisticated Spring collection. From fashion-foward office wear to long evening gowns the Lovas woman is one who means business. Cocktail dresses galore made up much of the line with a number for every occasion. From bright yellow and pink ruffled dresses to slinky silver strapless numbers. Professional and business-casual looks - think skirt suits and trousers with cute little jackets with oversized buttons and flared sleeves and suits were paired with brightly coloured tops for big impact.
Joe Fresh
As expected, Joe Mimran, one of our contributors for our Designer Picks, delivered a line that had something for everyone. The Joe Fresh Spring/Summer collection started with a feminine twist on the continuing military fashion trend with camo colours and military cut shirts mixed with pastel shorts, ruffles and long skirts. Much of the Joe Fresh line had a conservative, lady-like approach with lots of small ruffles and button-down blouses. As this is summer fashion, there was some skin too. Knit cover ups, sheer blouses and sequined pants and dresses added fun and sexy into the Joe Fresh line. We love the Joe Fresh line because there are always fashionable seperates that we can mix and match with our designer clothes at a very affordable price and this season is no different with shorts, capris and cute sundresses all catching our eye.

It is so odd to be considering summer clothes as we await the snow but I do love the Joe Fresh line, they have really versitile peices at very affordable prices.
