FASHION NEWS ROUND UP: Gossip Girl Style, Jessica Simpson, Madonna & Fashion For Relief

MadonnaMiss Selfridge, a UK fashion brand, is creating a line of dresses based on Gossip Girl style. The line will feature eight dresses inspired by the costume design of Gossip Girl stylist Eric Daman. Each of the Gossip Girls’ unique style will be portrayed. According to Vogue UK, the line will include a leopard print boho maxi dress to represent Vanessa Abrams, a ruffle front shift dress with floral skirt for Blair Waldorf, a black bandage dress representing Serena van der Woodsen and a nude and black lace tutu-style skirt for Jenny Humphrey. The Gossip Girl dresses go on sale in April and will start at $62 Canadian. This line sounds similar to the Anna Sui Gossip Girl clothing line from Target that has been extremely popular.

Jessica Simpson is adding to her fashion realm again. First she added bathing suits, then denim and now the singer is creating a line of watches. People Magazine says Jessica Simpson will work with jeweler Pascal Mouawad to create the new line of watches. Mouawad previously worked with Nicole Richie on her House Of Harlow 1960 jewelry line. The collection of 35 watches is scheduled to be in stores in the fall. Prices will range from $60 to $250.

The Queen of Pop, Madonna, is rumoured to be in talks to create a fashion line to be sold at Macy’s. The line will include clothing, accessories, intimates and footwear. According to WWD, rumoured names for the lines are Material Girl for the clothing and Truth Or Dare for the intimates collection. This wouldn’t be Madonna’s first try at fashion. In 2007, Madonna created a line for H&M. Madonna hasn’t issued a statement confirming this news, but sources told WWD a deal is close to being closed.

Celebrities took to the runway in both of Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief fashion shows this week. At the New York event a fit looking Kelly Osborne turned heads and model Agnyss Deyn took a tumble. In London, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Annabelle Neilson paid tribute to Alexander McQueen by wearing dresses from his Spring/Summer 2010 collection. People says Kate Moss shed tears when someone bid 100,000 pounds for the McQueen dress she wore. There is no word yet on how much money was raised by the events.
