Naomi Campbell has enlisted the help of her celebrity and fashion friends to host a star-studded fashion show and auction to raise money for Haiti during New York Fashion Week. On February 12th, the Fashion for Relief Haiti NYC 2010 show will be held at Bryant Park.
Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, will host the event. Rachel Zoe is the official stylist for the show. In an interview with Stylelist, Naomi Campbell wouldn’t reveal the celebrities walking the runway or who has donated clothes. She wants it to be a surprise. Grazia reports that the rumour is Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs and Vivienne Westwood will all walk in the show.
Naomi Campbell told Vogue: Fashion is universal, personal and touches everyone. Our aim is to use this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week catwalk to reach people and help raise crucial funds to help save the lives of women and children.
All proceeds raised are going to the CARE organization. The looks seen on the runway at the Fashion for Relief show will be up for auction on Net-A-Porter on February 15th. Naomi Campbell is also planning a similar show for London Fashion Week.
The show is unique because anyone can go. Tickets go on sale to the general public through Ticketmaster on Sunday for $100 – $150 per seat.
This is just another way the fashion industry is trying to raise money for Haiti. Real Style previously reported that the Council Of Fashion Designers Of America have created a t-shirt to raise funds for Haiti. There are still numerous celebrity auctions to raise money for various charities assisting in Haiti.
