“What to Wear for Fall ’09″ breaks down this season’s must-haves with Canada Style Blog’s editor’s picks and recommendations from top Canadian Fashion Designers.
Skirts and Pants For Fall/Winter:
The biggest International trends for skirts for fall 2009 are pencil skirts with belted jackets, mini skirts with opaque hose and or leggings, architectural shapes : pleated, bubble or draped skirt styles. Balenciaga’s pleated silk skirt is the outstanding fashion item of the season, same as Balmain’s military jacket was for spring. Pants are either “skinny” cigarette pants or pleated man’s style.
Here are the Editor’s picks for skirts from New York Industrie, Prada and Armani:

Pink Tartan: with the return of the strong shoulder, bottoms must be streamlined: a cigarette leg or fitted pencil skirt – A
Andy The-Anh: true-waist cropped pant with narrow leg; any draped skirt will do
Joeffer Caoc: pleated – B
Greta Constantine: their PVC and matte jersey tights (see collection)
Comrags: wide slouchy man’s pant to wear with a skinny shirt or T-shirt – C
Izzy Camilleri: high-waisted cigarette pant – D
We chose some affordable looks based on the recommendations:

I love the new Balenciaga skirt, but it’s much too expensive and not practical, the Prada skirt is really nice, but that mini you showed is a good alternative for less money
so great when the designers offer simmilar advice.
Im happy to see the return of the pencil skirt
I find pencil pants make the thigh and butt look big. I always have to wear crazy high heels to pull it off.
I love the trousers. $32.90 is a fantastic price.
