Remember when back to school meant getting some new jeans and t-shirts, maybe even some sweats . Well you can blame it on “Clueless”, but budding fashionista’s are getting their cool threads on as young as 10 years of age. Here at CanadaStyleBlog we did some research as to what kids are planning to wear to school and have uncovered some of the latest trends.
For teens the fashion looks are all centered around school tribes ( no surprises there) the school athlete, the IT girls, Bill Gates-in-training, and so on. Skinny jeans, printed t-shirts, leggings with colorful pullovers, high tops, leather jackets, jeans and leggings tucked into boots, bright shirt colors will all work .Great stores for teen girls are American Apparel, Alloy, Blue Bee Girls, Zara.
For younger girls, we put together some looks that embrace color and showcase the statement pieces that will stand out this fall, so mom’s shopping choices will get an A in approval from the picky tweenie!
Rocawear’s plaid tunic-length hoody makes for a practical wardrobe addition and ties into the plaid trend. Applique skirts and colorful leggings are a take on what mom will be wearing with textured hose and detailed skirts this season. And since it’s all about stand out footwear this fall, stand out sneakers are perfect for both gym class and making a great fashion first impression.

Whilst boys will be boys some looks will update last year’s wardrobe :Long sleeved tees, straight cut or slouchy jeans , hats ( fedora’s are the latest),Usain Bolt’s Puma running shoes will work well for teens.
For younger boys funky jeans, these sporty looks and the must-have plaid shirt round out our top picks for boys this season:

my 8 year old wanted a coach bag! younger fashionista indeed
kind of strange to have young kids into it, 12 , 13 ok..but 8? hopefully my kids ( when I get some) don’t pull that on me
these clothes are adorable! i luv the hats and plaid shirts. perfect for fall and appropriate.
I don’t remember caring about what I wore until I was at least 12 years old. Things have changed! Hoodies are a great idea for kids, fashionable so you don’t have to keep chasing them to put on a jacket/sweater.
