The House of Balmain under the guide of designer Christophe Decarin has been the major trend setter for the last two seasons in bringing back the 80′s. The biggest new look is the revival of the Military style jacket, reminiscent of Michael Jackson’s thriller jackets and the acid washed, shredded jeans.
The Balmain extended shoulder jacket has been seen on many a celebrity from Victoria Beckham to Rihanna. According to this article from TheStar , while the boyfriend jacket is becoming a staple in many women’s closets, it’s the “marching band” boy jacket look that is being most copied around the world.
The Balmain jacket retails for $4,900 cad. My suggestion would be to find a nicely cut, much more affordable version to get some trendy fashion style wear out of the look.
