According to this ElleCanada article Andy The-Anh’s loves old school movie stars, would Love to dress Cate Blanchett and borrow Meryl Streep’s diary. The maverick Montreal designer has a flair for dramatic style and eye for elegance. From the interview he does not seem to be a big fan of the 80″s comeback look:
“What current fashion trend would you like to see disappear?
“Acid-washed jeans. They’re everywhere in Europe, and I see indie kids wearing them a lot.I can’t believe they’re coming back!”

What’s your biggest fashion regret?
“When I was in school, I teased my hair and wore jackets with big shoulder pads. It was very goth, like the French new wave band Indochine.”
Do you have a signature cocktail?
“Everywhere I go, I always order kir royale. It has become my trademark.”
What’s your favourite colour?
“Bright canary yellow! I had a yellow couch for 15 years, and I have yellow shoes and a yellow watch. I’m superstitious about it: When I go to important meetings, I always wear yellow.”

andy is a great designer. reminds me of jason wu, very understated and elegant
These are some great pieces. It is good to see a Canadian designer getting some recognition. I have to agree with him on the 80′s, acid wash jeans, shoulder pads, teased hair..what were we thinking and why would anyone want to bring it back?
