With the 85th annual Academy Awards airing this Sunday, once again the debate will arise as to which of the previous 84 winners should be considered the best of the best. We’ve looked over the list ourselves and come up with our favourites.
Gone With The Wind (1939)
This period romance is at the top of many favourites charts, and received 10 Academy Awards. It was one of the first movies shot in color, and with a run time of 3 hours and 44 minutes it is still one of the longest. If you consider the length of time it’s been around, the amount of times it has been shown, and adjust ticket prices for inflation, it has earned more than any other movie in history.
