If like us, you’re excited for the reboot of the ’90s sitcom Boy Meets World, then you’ll be excited to find out that Girl Meets World has finally cast its child star. Topanga and Cory’s daughter will be played Rowan Blanchard of Spy Kids fame. Although she’s only 11-years-old in real life, she’ll be playing a 13-year-old in the upcoming sitcom, which begins shooting in February. Danielle Fishel and Ben Savage will be reprising their roles as Cory and Topanga, but in the new show, they’re all grown up and parenting their own teenage child. We’re very psyched, and we’re sure that Rowan, who’s played Jessica Alba’s daughter in the Spy Kids franchise, will make the Boy Meets World franchise appealing to a new generation of pre-teens.
“As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews,” Girl Meets World producer Michael Jacobs told EW. “Rowan is real and accessible, and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well.”
