Beyonce is featured on the cover of the February 2013 issue of GQ. Although the media is currently up in arms over the fact that Beyonce may have done a lip-synch rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner at the presidential inauguration, there’s no doubt that she’s still one of America’s favourite stars. In fact, Beyonce’s GQ cover pretty much names Beyonce the sexiest woman alive. The Beyonce February 2013 GQ cover line reads: “The 100 Sexiest Women of the 21st Century Starting With Beyonce.” We couldn’t agree more.
And while America will still have to wait to see if Beyonce responds to the lip-synch rumours surrounding her performance of the national anthem, she wants to put one serious rumour to bed in her GQ cover story: The rumour that her pregnancy was fake. “I felt like I kind of had to protect my mother, because when people made up the silliest rumor about me not really being pregnant, she was there when I went through all of those things,” Beyonce told GQ in an excerpt from the interview that doesn’t appear in the magazine but is featured on the magazine’s website. “And my sister. They were very, very defensive,” Beyonce said. “It’s not personal to me, and it comes along with the job, but the lack of respect-people will just go too far sometimes.”
There’s no word yet from Beyonce’s camp regarding the lip-synch rumours, however. All we know is that a spokesperson for the U.S. Marine Band, who performed with B at the inauguration, said the singer used a previously recorded vocal track before taking to the mic. No matter what the verdict, there’s no doubt that the girl can sing, and that it was Beyonce’s voice we heard at the inauguration. Isn’t that what actually matters?
