Evan Rachel Wood married Jamie Bell in secret on Tuesday. Why are we not surprised that Evan decided to get married around Halloween? After all, she was the Vampire Queen on True Blood and her most high profile relationship of the past was with shock rocker Marilyn Manson. In fact, Evan was actually engaged to Marilyn but called off their wedding in 2010. Jamie Bell is, of course, best known for his role in Billy Elliot. The couple met on the set of Green Day’s music video for “Wake Me Up When September Ends” in 2005 and got engaged in early 2012.

Evan and Jamie definitely followed the trend of celebrities who opt to get married in secret. We saw Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, and most recently Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel pull of secret weddings in the last few months. We think it was rather smart of Evan Rachel Wood to pick the week of Halloween for her wedding day. With everyone in costumes and at decked out parties, it would definitely be easy to fake being a vampire bride at a Halloween party while pulling off an actual wedding. Smart thinking, Evan!
