South Korean sensation Psy is in Toronto for the first time today, and he’s sure to have many fans screaming as he performs Gangnam Style at Kool Haus later this evening.
In case you have been living under a rock, the rapper released his hit song Gangnam Style on July 15th. It was the first song off his sixth studio album, and it quickly went viral. The song is closing in on a billion views, a ceiling it is set to break on December 21st. As it stands it is all ready YouTube’s 3rd most watched video of all time.
Psy started the day at the Ritz Carlton, where he answered questions for media and talked about his life after Gangnam Style became such a huge hit. In case you were wondering, the South Korean superstar is in town to help promote Samsung’s Galaxy Note II super phone, and is performing a free, invitation-only concert this evening. This will be his first ever live Canadian concert, but tickets sold out in under 4 minutes as they were distributed through social media sites. You also had chances to win tickets off the radio and through local media. If you really want to go, you can still win tickets this evening however. The first few fans who show up at the doors of Kool Haus this evening dressed like Psy, or who bring their Galaxy phone will be allowed inside for the 8:30 show.
