Rihanna and Chris Brown shared a kiss in front of the audience — and the entire world — last night at the MTV VMAs. Although they were both winners at the awards show, we can’t help but wonder if Rihanna is making a rather irrational decision by being so friendly with her ex-boyfriend. We all know what happened between the pair a few years back after the Grammys, which was the reason the couple called it quits in the first place. Rihanna recently revealed that she still has strong feelings for ex-boyfriend Chris while speaking to Oprah a week ago, revealing to O, “He was the love of my life.” Brown obviously still feels something for Rihanna too. After the songstress won the most sought-after award of the night for Video of the Year, Chris stopped her on her way back to her seat and kissed her on the lips. Audience members seemed surprised by the show of affection between the two who share a troubled past. Interestingly enough, Rihanna won the award for “Video of the Year” for “We Found Love,” which we’ve always thought was inspired by her rocky relationship with Chris.

Rumours have circulated since the couple split that they’ve been secretly hooking up away from the public eye. Rihanna also admitted to Oprah that her run-ins with Chris at awards shows are still “awkward… My stomach drops and I have to maintain this poker face and not let it get to the outer part of me. I have to maintain that and suppress it.” Clearly, things are not as awkward as they used to be. We just hope that Rihanna is making smart decisions that keep her in good health.
